Toronto Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I suppose you haven’t read his tirade on The Well.
As it happens, I have, and I find it to be something of a nothingburger - we are all free to feel whatever we want about any given subject on the forum and say so - and more importantly, I don't see what relevance it has in a thread like this, where no tirade of comparable length has been posted. The Crosstown threads are continuously derailed by empty speculation and inflammatory takes about how wrong LRT is, if people stuck to posting facts then there would be no need to ever criticize a posting in here.

I questioned the design choices of a project in a different thread over a week ago. And you're holding this against me now?
It appears you have a gripe with the amount of speculation over facts on this forum. To that, I would suggest you reflect on your own contributions.

Something something glass houses…

The more important question is do we trust Strabag after they fumbled the tunnelling for Scarborough so hard ?

It's worth telling everyone that a certain user who doesn't seem to enjoy what goes on at this website but who does enjoy complaining about it, will no longer be filling up threads up with unending bitching. There's a difference between registering dissatisfaction with something and going on and on about it without adding anything of substance, and @stevedean's posts had become the very definition of trolling. We had just recently given @stevedean a time out, but his return was marked by just more of the same, so this time he's gone and is not being invited back. Constructive discussion that includes criticism is fine, but inveterate trolling is not welcome here.

That would be for the caissons (deep and stable foundations in the ground to hold up the bridge). We won't be seeing any piers above the ground for a year or so. The concrete foundations has to set for a long time to build up its strength, before they can build on top of it. Especially when the foundations will be underwater because of the low water-table.

Two new open houses planned for April. The first one is online on 2-Apr regarding the restoration plan along Eglinton West. It says "(e)xperience the different stations interactive elements", and I'm not entirely sure what that means!

Second is an in person open house at Bala Avenue Community School on 9-April regarding current construction status:

I actually believe we'll see pier construction this year as well. I think the curing time is long, but not that long to push it to next year. When you consider there is also a deck to build you don't want to wait a year between each stage, especially when there is another contract coming in after to construct the rails and everything else.

Station construction seems to have begun, so all that nice, fresh sod they laid last summer (the logic of which I questioned here) is being ripped up 🤣
Station construction has begun? I thought the stations contract is still in RFP stage?
