VIVA + York Region Transit

is think it would make more sense to send the Express down to 407.
And get rid of the core route. It's not BT's mandate to serve York Region beyond getting people to the subway. And with the fare integration, there would be no double fare for the subway to York U or YRT routes at VMC or Pioneer Village.

That would ironically spark some major backlash on Brampton, especially as Zum runs better service on that piece of Highway 7 than Viva. If YR added more frequent service to accommodate for the missing frequency (which i doubt) and extend the Viva to Highway 50, then maybe it could work but then theres the issue of it being a forced transfer when service on Highway 7 between VMC and Brampton was a one seat ride.

The best solution is probably York Region contracting to Brampton Transit. Removing drop off and pick up restricts plus paying BT $0.50 per trip entirely within York Region would probably be a satisfactory solution for most York residents, as well as Brampton Transit, especially since BT is $0.48 cheaper per Presto fare

If you ever take the core route, you will see they have two, very different customer bases. There are a lot of people using the 501 to get to employment areas in Vaughan, and frankly any service that gets people not driving is a win for us all.

If they cut back to Hwy 407 Station or Pioneer Village like we have discussed above then that is still not a bad alternative.

If they end up cutting the branches altogether, that would actually be horrible...
I think its somewhat confirmed that its going to reroute to Pioneer Village instead.

Seen right out the station and also at Steeles/Founders on the north side.

This is a temporary move due to picketing lines by CUPE 3903 YorkU employees. Brampton Transit operators are unionised and don't cross picket lines. In the previous strike they shifted to Steeles/Founders as well.

2nd and 3rd pic shows what looks like an incomplete screen wall enclosure for the AC units up on the roof. Is that intentional or are they still not done?
