The Pickle Barrel in this building was the first restaurant I ever ate in when I visited Canada for the first time, on a hot July Friday night in 2001. Toronto could use a group of "guerilla urbanists" to covertly go around the city at night, removing wooden poles, adding planters to yellow blocks of concrete, finishing off the base of bollards properly, etc, etc. The list is endless. Surely someone can rise to this challenge! :D

Absolutely agree. There are plenty of gems of buildings in Toronto that struggle behind the wall of utility wires, overhead transformers, wooden poles, cracked narrow sidewalks, lack of street furniture, lack of trees etc, etc.

Corporate logos are the only thing that give this grey burg any colour! :)
