    Those numbers include 30 years of maintenance and operations, previous costs for subway lines didn’t include that.

    This keeps being brought up, but are the Citiadis's being made currently either? There is not enough demand for this type of vehicle to stay in continuous production. If an agency wants to order them then they can make them. Hopefully Metrolinx uses a bit of thought with this.

    No, TBMing under an open corridor is an obcene waste, all because Doug hates streetcars. Even a median line that is separated from major intersections would give 95% of the benefit.

    The presentation slides I’ve seen show they will have a decently wide corridor that includes a service road along side the tracks, so they should be able to squeeze in room for a bike path as well.

    I’m curious to know what triggered the train to stop, like if a passenger pulled the emergency stop handle, it occurred far away from the operators who might not have noticed.
