    Toronto Eglinton Line 5: Forest Hill Station | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Almost certainly the structural connection to the building is there. Will it open any time soon? Who knows, it's Metrolinx! They will never tell us anything (because imagine a government agency being accountable to the public lol) so it could be in 2 weeks, it could be in 10 years.

    Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

So the reason I'm a little skeptical is the new store still says "Pop-Up" on the windows. It also was a very low effort reno. No changes inside, the outside is clearly blue film over the old Banana Republic doorways. Wondering if it might be they put up a moved sign for now because it's taking...

Streaming is basically cable but more expensive already at this point. Everything is bundled (except Netflix who don't need it yet), except now you need even more services to watch sports, but like between the bundles and ads having been forced onto every platform, etc. we're back to cable but...

Ugh, I wish the architectural documents were still on the AIC. I can't remember if the glass portion is part of just part of the condo (which would make the most sense) or if they did internal transitions between floor heights within the office spaces.

Lol someone I know continues to insist Olivia wants to rename Dundas Street even though she killed that plan and it was John Tory's (who he LOVES) idea. Any time I point out it was a John Tory thing he just starts insisting that isn't true. They also insist she initiated renaming the square...

95 Wellington West recladding (Cadillac Fairview, 20s, WZMH Architects)

Council will not be happy until every building is grey and every retail unit is filled by a Shoppers or Rexall!

Toronto Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

A residential tower is proposed to be added to that end of Atrium which will block it from the North (it will still be visible from the south, which is why only the north side is dead). The tower stupidly cantilevers over the sign because god forbid we remove a single piece of advertising in...

    Toronto The HUB | 258.46m | 59s | Oxford Properties | Rogers Stirk Harbour

Every now and then I remember I have a degree in Structural Engineering. So here's my thoughts: For them to VE out the diagonal lines they'd need to redesign the entire building. Those are structural. This building is built like 1 Bloor West. Except the diagonals are inside the glass instead of...

    Toronto The HUB | 258.46m | 59s | Oxford Properties | Rogers Stirk Harbour

But that requires sacrificing a bunch of potential leasable floor space. This building is being built by a pension fund, their goal is to maximize the amount of usable available space. I totally agree that a round tower would look amazing, but it makes no economic sense for a pension fund. Good...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

The old Harry Rosen is going to be demolished eventually for a new tower at 80 Bloor, which is why they're moving. So it won't be there. I don't think the Holt Men's space is on a prominent enough corner for Apple, plus they'd need to basically rebuild the entire exterior (and maybe interior)...

Yeah this is weirdly disjointed, hopefully they clean it up by the final design.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

I feel like once GO adopts their planned letter-based line naming system we might finally get regional maps with both GO and TTC.

    Toronto Eaton Centre

I noticed on Friday that 2 Queen West is finally going to be used for something! It's going to be a pop-up for the Olympics, sponsored by McCain (yes, the fries company).

    Hudson's Bay Company

I think this also does help explain the decline in the registry industry though. If the average age of marriage is up to 35 now, a lot of people will have gone and bought those things already. I'm that age and unmarried, and I've spent the last couple years (since I stopped having roommates)...

Convenience Stores and Gas Stations in Downtown that Sell Beer?

I'd say it remains primarily mass market brands, at least for the corner stores around where I live. A lot of Budweiser, Coors light, etc. Steamwhistle is pretty common though, so at least there's something with some flavour. Generally I've found 7/11 has more interesting chocies than Circle K...
