    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 351.85m | 106s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

As far as I know it's going to be Harbour Street West of Yonge, Downes Street East of Yonge. Sorta like College and Carlton (although those were not originally a through street so those are more justified in having different names). Is that the best choice, idk, but that seems to be the current...

Ah yes, City Staff are literal demons to be blamed for everything. Glad to know that I, as a civil servant in an unrelated part of the City, with no connection to City Planning (who are not even to blame for the delays here, it was the developer!), am apparently personally responsible for Frank...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The City has previously recommended implementing the King St rules on both Queen and College (as well as the entire length of King). At the time this was projected for somewhere around 2028, I'm sure it's been delayed as everything is around here, but there absolutely has been some looking into...

So the inside of HBC Queen St isn't just going to be white construction walls! Passed through today and the construction walls have been painted with murals. Work was still continuing on the concourse level but Levels 1 and 2 are done. Some pictures below (all taken on the second floor).

    The Retail Apocalypse

So last week I was talking with a coworker who's also from the Kingston area about how crazy it was that Toys R Us was still open there given it's parking lot is at least 95% empty all the time and has been since probably the 2000s (it is in a very unwalkable area, so it's not like people are...

    Toronto 645 Northcliffe | 143.35m | 42s | Stanford Homes | Superkül

This thing is like the stereotype of a Toronto condo. Soulless. Grey. Nothing interesting about it. That said, the height is correct for an area with an LRT station, but that's all it has going for it IMO.

I got a bit thrown by the RENX article when it said Ruby Liu had acquired 28 leases. Then I noticed the article was from July. RENX may have jumped the gun a bit there lol. That said, not sure about Primaris' other malls, but the HBC store at the Cataraqui Centre was DATED. My parents said it...

Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

I also don't think that the Farm Boy on QQ East is helped by the fact there's another (much busier) location not that far away at the Harbourfront Centre. So anyone West of Yonge is probably using that location instead, and that limits the potential market of the location at the LCBO tower.

    Hudson's Bay Company

Confirmed to be Holiday windows that CF are leasing out, potentially on at least 3 sides of the building (Richmond, Bay and Yonge. The article doesn't suggest there will be windows on Queen which I guess makes sense given the OL construction)...

    Toronto Eaton Centre

Maybe. There's been rumours of another store instead of one of those three (also from the north end of TEC, and not currently present in downtown Vancouver) but not sure if that ended up happening or not. Given Aritizia was announced recently im sure the full Pacific Centre announcement will...

    Toronto Eaton Centre

I feel like the PR people hadn't talked to the architects/engineers here. Cus like, yeah calling it a hallway is a stretch. I actually like the little space with all 3 stores opening on to it, but it isn't a "hallway". But that can be the problem with marketing, they oversell things. That said...

    LCBO / The Beer Store

While I hope they can establish them at other sites, it's worth noting there are also very few gas stations in downtown Toronto either, nor are gas stations often located at places that are primarily accessible by walking, which was my main point. I don't see gas stations suddenly making an...

    LCBO / The Beer Store

Ah so empties returns are now only for people who have a car (since, for example, if the beer store is only going to have 8-10 locations in Toronto, none of those will be downtown). How very on-brand for a government stuck in (at best) the 1980s. Also based on that article, are the Retail...

    Toronto The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

While I do like the treatment of the Dominion Public Building, the park we got over the rail corridor is much better than the office podium that's in these renderings. So like, you win some you lose some.

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

The concrete blocks are largely above the subway station and the PATH connections.
