Fair, but not sure Mx is using best in class construction techniques. I’m watching them build at Queen/De Grassi and there’s a tonne of manual / small work being doing by individual contractors. Again, not an expert, but seems like there’s a lot of work that could be scaled thru engineering...
Yes they are different and should be superior to Finch West which is using the same junk that Metrolinx has known is failing the Confederation Line in Ottawa for 4+ years but they still moved forward with making the exact same mistakes that were made without pausing to learn from others mistakes.
This will be a pretty cool milestone. Not sure if this week’s weather will set this back but good to see this taking shape as another visible nod that they’re actually making steady progress here.
It’s bonkers that they now need to drill in the corridor they just built. I am no pro but why wouldn’t they have pre fabricated and installed hydro lines and housings to support the hydro needs already. I suppose that may be difficult because they spent a great deal of time compacting soils in...
lol wrong. The finch 36 doesn’t come every two minutes but nice try. Especially not the ones that have to run when the LRT is broken or not running and end up blocking the reduced lane ways that motorists now have to contend with because literally everyone at Metrolinx is incapable.
Of course it does. Metorlinx and its entire teams are incapable of even a google search. Fire them all. And then beef up the heaters, ensure there is snow removal at intersections and install priority lights to make this thing move. Else rip it out and put buses down the centre like on Highway 7...
Great pics but that additional space isn’t all for OL… there are currently only 2 tracks operational for GO/VIA on the eastern section of the rails and bridges and there will ultimately be 4 tracks for GO/VIA +2 for OL. What is being built right now is essentially the room for the additional +2...
Agree and this is the dumbest topic ever. Who knows what life will be like when those few stops (they aren’t in a straight line) will support some Queen street traffic. We don’t know what we don’t know including whether the OL will even ever be completed. Next topic,
Yes but a project that turns out to be 3x more than estimated is either a lie or ineptitude at its highest order. We would all be fired for understating the cost of a project so egregiously that one can only surmise that it was lying or wilful negligence which is akin to lying.
