Some people actually think it's very important that the very real damage this man did isn't buried under all the "He really cared about taxpayers" homilies. I'd argue it's more important to remember the truth than to bury it with the dead.
Did you just come back here to get upset? You must remember from prior experience that this isn't a Ford-friendly zone, and that your opinions aren't exactly warmly received.
Those kids are going to be reading a lot about their Dad as they get older. That condolence book is probably going to be one of the least upsetting things.
"So we're going to move Rob to palliative care."
"Great! So when do you think he'll be back on his feet?"
"Uhhhhh.......I'm going to leave that one for the nurse."
That's true. The main thrust in most of the international news stories I recall seeing was "How did this city we all thought was sane and forward-thinking elect someone like this? And could it happen here?"
Even when he was at his worst, I don't recall many people here outright wishing for his death. Most of us would have been perfectly happy just seeing him get arrested.
Nevertheless
The supporters of both share a hatred for government in general, and just want to see the world burn so they can re-build it in their image once all the people they hate are gone. If I were to call them dumb I'd be giving them the extreme benefit of the doubt.
Saying he was "Known for always displaying extreme professionalism and courtesy" when he was known for the opposite, seems like an odd thing to add. And that "Knowing him meant you were always keenly aware of what team he supported in any arena" definitely seems to be trying to find a semi-nice...
