    TTC: Streetcar Network

No reason to not start thinking about what's could be included in the next generation of streetcars ... for the 2050s and beyond.

If it's not calling every stop then something is broken. They could get fined for lack of AODA compliance.

If it's taking 44 minutes, then it's likely on-time. If it's faster than that, presumably it's either behind schedule, or the driver and/or transit control are incompetent.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

It is odd though that the local communication we get is about a 4th siding and not main line track. Yes, it is main line track ... temporarily used as a siding; but once again Metrolinx's communication sucks ass.

If only there was a clear big sign next to the button to tell you when you don't need to press it.

That doesn't tell us who is the operator though. Where was it announced that TTC staff wouldn't be in the control centre - as they are for both Line 5 and Line 6 (at the TTC building on the southwest corner of Bathurst/Davenport facility I believe).

When was that announced? I thought negotiations between TTC and Metrolinx continued. Though if they hit the ultimate layout, there'd be more track in 905 than 416, so there is logic to Metrolinx running it using more of a GO Train model.

That seems very unrealistic. Metrolinx had been promising 38 minutes in recent years. And never better than 33 minutes when their plan was for full transit priority. Even if they get it to 38 minutes, it's faster than bus service at all times of day except overnight. Note since this was...

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

As does most cities. Look at NYC - is there even any identifier other than a subway sign or route number - but then there's commuter trains? And the one subway line in Manhattan not operated by MTA doesn't even have that! Montreal uses different signage for Metro, REM, and Exo. Even in London...

If the timetable was not aggressive enough. I expect though, it would be not granular enough, rather than not aggressive enough. You certainly see vehicles that are running late. They've been very clear that the current timetable is not aggressive. And it will become faster as they move...

I don't believe this is correct. I literally just watched a streetcar, going uphill through a signalized intersection, at what appeared to be higher than the 40 km/hr speed limit; it certainly wasn't much lower. Perhaps you are thinking of special track work - of which I'm not aware of there...

What was the gap between the streetcar in front of them, and the streetcar behind them. Which streetcar did you most recently observe it, so we can pull the data and confirm if it was behind schedule, or not in sync with the cars around it. I ride streetcars near every day, and really the only...
