The new Aritzia store is larger than before the renovations as they combined it with the former Le Château space to the north (that was also used as a pop-up for Aaniin and American Eagle at times).

With regards to the point that I bolded - I personally find this to be quite unreasonable and irresponsible, partially due to my confirmation bias but I cannot justify this myself. At least the planned service changes for September are a much better idea.

The reason for the lower (podium) floors having a higher floor-to-ceiling height (which is what I believe you are referring to) than the residential floors is because the lower floors are used for different purposes. OCAD University will occupy some space in the lower floors, and I assume there...
