You've obviously never taken a viva bus then. The drivers watch the pedestrian countdowns like a hawk and will actively slow down before the yellow light. They sit behind left turning cars at lights.
And if you say these problems can be fixed, well, they can also be fixed for the LRT. Neither...
That's just not true. They're about the same. (123.9cm/yr for Edmonton, 121.5cm/yr for Toronto) Edmonton is also a lot colder. No reason why what works in Edmonton can't work here.
Also Line 5 test trains ran today, along with streetcar service. It's not an inherent problem with LRT.
This only relates to pedestrian crossovers, the ones with yellow flashing lights and the white "stop for pedestrian" signs. Drivers are still allowed to proceed once their path is clear at normal intersection crosswalks.

Speaking of complaining to Regional Council, YRT doesn't have GTFS communication for cancelled buses. Writing an email or two to get the ball rolling might be worthwhile.
There are also plenty of other low hanging fruits worth...

The displays appear to be e-ink/e-paper based on the way they refresh.
The choice to use 24 hour time and...

looks like they got moving after my previous post (#24)
YRT has released their 2025 service initiatives. Pretty substantial service increase, with major frequency improvements, new on demand services, and new school specials.
Unfortunately YRT remains allergic to clock face scheduling and timing buses for GO trains...
