Wow, Line 6 in operation looks pathetic. I doubt they'll speed it up without sustained public outcry.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 351.85m | 106s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Are they wondering why a new BMO branch was built? Does anyone go to the bank more than like once a year at this point?

Had to convert that to metres over here - it works out 33m, so the equivalent of about 11 more residentials storeys in height!

Can't speak for others but I wouldn't be complaining lol

I thought that the TTC putting up maps with line 5 on them meant it was a couple weeks from opening. If it's really not opening for a couple months+, then that was a really dumb move.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Once Doug Ford is gone, how many more of his fugly Ford spawn will be left to mess with Toronto politics? Feels like this city and province is cursed because of them.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I notice this in the videos too. The LRT will have a long straightaway (in its own ROW, of course) yet it's still being passed by the majority of cars that are sharing a lane. Line 5 seems to be even worse. You can go to Berlin and see the dedicated ROW trams there easily outcompete road...

Yeah, it's misleading, especially Line 6 appearing as a subway when it's actually just three light rail trains in a trench coat. Still happy to see the map up though, because it now seems like both lines are opening imminently.

    Montréal Transit Developments

It's not looking good for construction any time soon, unfortunately. The CDPQi is now saying that to make things more efficient, they won't build Griffintown station until they can start Bonaventure at the same time. However, Bonaventure isn't even approved and funded yet. I think we know how...

    Montréal Transit Developments

The new REM extension looks like a hit, and the addition McGill and É-M stations are big improvements to downtown Montreal's transit network, with 2 east-west axes and 3 north-south axes running throughout. The biggest disappointment, however, is no Griffintown or Bonaventure stations in sight...

Definitely. I think Hurontario is a promising contender for second place. Calgary's Green Line is up there too, if you're counting poor planning.

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

I agree with almost all of your post, except I thought everyone had noticed how bad the UP smells. This post describes the aroma as "cow" 😂

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

I agree - it's a slight increase to travel times to Bloor and Union, but it allows for way faster trips from St. Clair and Eglinton. I feel like if we could just fix the slow speeds on the airport spur, it would counteract the time lost to the additional stops. It's also agonizing when you're...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

What the heck is going on here? 😂 Is this even a GO Train thread anymore?
