Who knows how the sky train will perform here. Remember they are based on srt architecture which had lots of issues in the canadian winter

fair enough but the SRT which the current sky train architectural is based on was fraught with problems in the snow. vancouver is a much warmer climate so who knows if those trains will experience the same issues in our weather. look at the citadis.... it wouldnt hurt to explore elsewhere

do they? When was the last time Alstom built EMUs let alone driverless EMUs? Sure i would like our industry stimulated but if that is at the expense of getting things right and not having any fundamental issues like the citadis trains are experiencing i rather give the contract to a foreign...

its ironic that ML are desperate to shore up their image with line 5 and 6, yet ignore easy low hanging fruit such as putting together trains to show 1 unified livery and a consistent brand image instead of a what currently there. its like a disorganized bunch of random freight cars. in fact...

im just waiting for a day when GO can get themselves together to put together sets that all have the same livery. Rainbow sets just looks so disorganized and its not like they have a shortage of coaches to begin with.
