Unsuprisingly this sudden detour has stirred some feathers out East. Some apparently were using the bridge to get to/from work: Some at the Abbeywood retirement home were commuting locally from Port union for example. Local politicians were set to have a meeting this past week and are asking for...
I happened to come across the city's CAOs latest update...
Construction is almost complete...And well under budget (presently at 71 percent of the $52MM).
We're 3 months behind with occupancy scheduled for next month, and landscaping delayed til spring to minimize damage.
The line 6/5 doesn't appear in its final steady state. I think it would be premature to really make a call. There is pressure right now to fix line 6 to meet (or at least improve) the original goals communicated to the public... And we are seeing some motions put forward to change practices...
I tried looking up what the DSBRT would do to this intersection to see what was planned... Then looked back at the hilarity at the top of this page (re: LRT).
Unfortunately, Metrolinx has killed (as is tradition to rewrite history) the https://www.dsbrtmap.ca/ website to see the detailed...
I appreciate Clr Saxe asking this...but wished it went further:
Didn’t Metrolinx and Mosaic already stress-test the vehicles and approve them at specific maximum speeds? Shouldn’t that be the benchmark for how fast the trams are operated? I understand that running trains faster or slower...
I posted the above in Line 5 & 6 threads that speak of improving performance/frequency/speed...
Another motion by Jamal was also introduced to look at removing parking and left turns and distance between streetcar stops:
Is the limited TSP currently functioning on the line? Has anyone observed it in action? If the target travel time is 46 minutes, and trains are running behind schedule (many listed 50 mins+ travel times) ... which suggests that the TSP is active anyways and not really improving travel times...
Depends on what app you use... unsure how Google interpolated as I prefer to use Transit or Citymapper apps as I've found better accuracy with routes I frequent. In this case it looks like transit is following the schedule.
You're also including some walking in your trip, I'm unfamiliar but...
The stairwell lights or do you speak of the bridge lights?
I've noticed it generally the bridge now stays the same colour, but thought it was just by choice... I wonder if this warrants a note to ML...
A small but slightly annoying bug has popped up on the site over the past week.
No matter what I do, the last alert/notification in the bell menu refuses to mark as read. I kept rereading the same one, thinking maybe I was mis‑clicking, but it turns out it’s consistent: the final item in the...
I think you answered your own question: construction isn’t officially finished, and they had to put a detour in place as of the closure on November 22 - would have been nice to coordinate better... I presume that if the sidewalks are also complete, they could suggest using them, since the...
A bit premature... As Steve posted, the 46min is just a placeholder at this stage. Let's wait til it opens and they can work out the kinks...
Then, I'm all for what @hw621 suggested if we don't see improvement...
