I found this article from early 2012:
https://toronto.citynews.ca/2012/5/29/eglinton-lrt-unlikely-to-meet-2020-completion-date-ttc-report/
Projected completion (by the TTC not Metrolinx) was 2022-2023. Metrolinx obviously maintained that the completion date would be 2020 till 2016/2017
While I generally agree with his thoughts on stop-removals being too heavy handed and a crutch to achieve better travel times, there are numerous stops that are definitely due for removal (for example the one sided stops at Patika Avenue and Raven Road as well as the far-side stop at Shephard.)...
Ah that makes sense... must've been a change when they moved to the three-stop extension. explains the large bus terminal at Shephard and McCowan too.
There could still be provisions made for an enclosed link to the mall however... I know they want to tear down the Cineplex for development...

Old design but gives you an idea of the environment under the green roof
Provision for a second entrance on Progress that could (presumably) be integrated into the neighboring STC development block and allow for a fully enclosed passage between the mall and Line 2 platforms
Looks like a settlement was reached for this proposal all the way back in August, with an issue date of November. E-decision here.
12 towers with ~5000 units and much much more
Still likely waiting on that OPA 499 Appeal to be (hopefully?) dismissed sometime this year for full ZBA and OPA...
I'm sure that Bombardier/Alstom is capable of constructing such a model as many of their European trams are built with double-doors
Assuming they win procurement for EWE trains
Then the double-doors trams could be paired with original models to increase capacity across the board
I really do not understand going underground between Conlin and Robert when the right-of-way is 20m+... Hell there's even space for 2 lanes of traffic and 2 LRT tracks all the way to Adelaide/Brock street. Mixing modes is generally problematic as @ARG1 says as you get the drawbacks of an LRT...
Reviving this thread with a speculative map of the Ontario Line's most likely future westward expansion paths!
I think building elevated next to the Gardiner is a perfect opportunity to build a flying wye junction south of Parkside drive. I've omitted a direct connection to Jane via Swansea as...
As lovely as elevated would be along Simcoe the ROW is only ~16m south of Switzer Drive. Houses also have setbacks of less than 10m between there and downtown Oshawa. It would likely be nuked by homeowners.
@Northern Light @smably
I really don't think it's so cut and dry with regards to P3's. There are pros and cons to the procurement model. I think the only reason the public purse got so screwed with regards to Eglinton is COVID, the first suit before the Pandemic was likely Metrolinx's fault and...
