    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

You’re correct. The LRT Master Agreement 2012 was the supreme document until the New Deal and subsequent 2023 TOFA were signed. Technically the TTC was only confirmed to be the operator upon the TOFA signing. LRT Master Agreement: “It is intended that TTC will operate for Metrolinx as owner...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The gift that keeps on giving 😭 I am not optimistic about the operations. If these issues are happening after thorough, months long testing, what issues will we be facing when it opens for service? How are these kinks not yet resolved? Why are new issues popping up so late in the game? Was the...

    VIVA + York Region Transit

I assume people complained that cold air kept blowing in everytime someone triggered the sensor or the repair costs were too much for YRT.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Michael Lindsay called them out this morning on the radio. This is honestly a bit depressing. Maintenance should have been kept under public control. A whole LRT line is now dependant on the penny-pinching of a faceless consortium that will vanish into the air w/o any accountability.

    Ottawa Transit Developments

Maybe Ottawa can go back to whatever CAF stock RTG was proposing way back when :)

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Metropolis is running 2-cars as a light metro on REM. The Metropolis "family" is flexible enough to run 2-9 cars according to their wesbite.

So these are not based on the Bombardier tech used on the Rockets? My understanding of the original RFP was that TTC wanted basically a Rocket 2.0 so that maintenance could be simpler and they wouldn't have to conduct the same level of thorough testing as they would on a new rolling stock.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

TTC will maintain Metrolinx-owned infrastructure on YNSE and SSE. From Transit Network Expansion Update report to the board, Nov 2025.

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

A lot of the strategic planning of where lines go and what ought to be prioritised is done at MTO. Metrolinx provides the technical expertise and manages the consultants who provide further expertise. The work done at MTO by bureaucrats is not done with the goal of boosting property values for...

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

This is a TTC sign, not Metrolinx. I like the Bloor Yonge font on the entrances though. Metrolinx should make that standard on subways. Ontario Line has adopted it on its entrances.

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

The Swedes had a generation of social democratic governments post-War willing to spend on big ticket items. We had the PC version of that for a bit with Bill Davis, followed by a succession of provincial governments not willing or able to spend. In the 2000s we had that unwillingness at the...

    Eglinton East LRT | Metrolinx

Is there any evidence that Line 5 cannot go east of Kennedy? I know the City made this claim in their study for EELRT. But has Metrolinx responded? I would find it strange they would hamstring their own project with another of their own projects.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

They could install enclosed seating areas like the ones at Wilson and Glencairn. Put a heater in there and you're set.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I think the Dundas Street re-naming has been dropped. TMU paid to get there name on this station. Why should TTC decline a free re-branding?

    TTC Cartography, Signage, and Wayfinding

Which is a good thing. The TTC and MX wayfinding standards need to come as close as possible, esp. with symbols. Fonts and the exact pantone of a line bullet don't matter. But using different symbols within the same station for the same type of service is silly.
