Good morning everyone - and for King Toronto a good morning it is.

1. A large shipment of cladding / glazing arrived on site - in addition to photo from @citylights above, at least one more truck with large frames has arrived.
2. Additional installation support equipment arriving on site - a spyder crane and a suction lifter for glazing pieces delivered this morning
3. Installation of Level 4 cladding and glazing on the King Toronto west facade is now underway
4. More construction management and crew on site this morning than has been seen for a long time.

Pictures follow.

Afternoon update - the cladding and glazing crew has been working all day on the Level 4 west facade - still going in the late afternoon. Some action photos of cladding work in progress, with a section being lifted from the staging area in the courtyard, around the front of the building, to its installation point on the west facade.

Later in the afternoon - from our terrace, the tower crane was still hoisting cladding sections into position on the west facade. It will be a major milestone, at least for us, when the cladding reaches the level of being visible from our place.

After Wednesday's cladding and glazing deliveries - another two truckloads this morning! It certainly appears that King Toronto is getting past the production problems which have bedevilled the cladding and glazing process over the past two years, starting with the late summer / fall of 2023 bankruptcy of the original supplier. Documentation on the current shipments indicates an origin outside of Canada - my understanding is that the King Toronto curtain wall is now being fabricated in Korea.

This morning's photos - first, the lift of the skid from the delivery truck in the courtyard entrance, and then of the second delivery truck's shipment waiting on King Street.

Yeah, it looks like these are coming from Eagon as indicated on the containers.
Appears they also did the Window Wall for Telus Sky, one of Westbank's other developments in Calgary.

So there's only one piece of cladding per crate? Wow!
I know, I was expecting the crates to be more efficiently packed, like a flat-packed piece of IKEA furniture.
But I’m guessing it’s done that way to prevent the panels from damaging each other during transport, and each panel is very heavy.

I'm also surprised that the flimsy looking crate is able to support the weight of the panel on that angle.

Though I think one should wait to see a building completed before assessing it, I was surprised yesterday at how boring it is now the cladding is getting attached. Yes, the shapes of the sections catch one's eye but the glass blocks are underwhelming - so far. It may improve as more is done and the plants, which were heaving featured in the renderings, get planted. I also assume that, when it is occupied, the lights from inside Units will shine through the blocks which may also provide more 'sparkle'.

I think this may be one of those buildings that in order to get full appreciation of it it has to be completed with the current pace cladding where like a year and a half off of that but I think the greenery is what will make the site

Agreed, the glass block looks quite dated and the grey slab covers detract further from the look.

I feel like this one is going to end up being more controversial than I would have expected, sort of like the ROM crystal.

Personally I was hesitant when I saw the first cladding, but now that I've seen a few levels of it stacked and the cubes take shape - I love it. It's unique, high quality, makes you stop and look. Even if no greenery happens (though I hope it does), I think this building will be iconic.
