It's pretty much the same car. Flexity Freedoms. But these are double-ended (like Waterloo), and are a 7-module over 40-metre car, compared to the 5-module 30-metre cars on Line 5 and in Waterloo.

If you watch one of the fanning videos on Youtube, it's not really impressive. Just an urban LRT line aka glorified streetcars like the ION. Looks similar to the Crosstown on the surface with better priority. You don't get the subway feel unlike the C-Trains flying down beside the railway ROW at 80 km/h.

So that would be about 26 km/hr. With the average stop spacing of about 1,200 metres, it presumably faster than 7.3 km for the 12-stops from Kennedy to Sunnybrook Park (Leslie) (inclusive) - an average stop spacing of about 660 metres.
At 26 km/hr Kennedy to Sunnybrook would take 17 minutes. It it's only 20 km/hr (for example - guessinging a 1-minute penalty for 5 extra stops) then it would take 22 minutes.
The rest of the line to Mount Dennis is (if I can count) another 13 stations and 11.4 km. would be an 870 metres. I'd think that 30-km/hr would be doable here - so about another 22 minutes to Mount Dennis.
How does that compare to the current Centreville train?

They are the same cars but 7 segments. Ours are two pairs of 5 segment cars.

Mike Lindsay says that RSD did not start by the end of August but he is hoping it will only be a matter of a few weeks til they can start it
He also says that the main issue with the vehicle maintenance is that they are trying to balance corrective maintenance with preventive maintenance to find the right balance.

And sadly that's why the road resurfacing on Eglinton is happening without the bike lane installations.
For those who haven't seen the "Cycling Infrastructure" thread, Cycle Toronto issued an action alert for Eglinton yesterday and will be hosting a rally on Thursday, September 11 (6 PM) at Eglinton and Holly. Almost 800 people have sent actions within the first 24 hours.

yup.... if they really wanted to stick with 2025 they would be going 24/7 on whatever deficiencies they need to correct before RSD. Alas they are running on govt time and we are paying for it literally and figuratively.

Interesting ...they're looking into progressively opening the crosstown...I assume Lindsey meant, frequency limitations while running parallel busses?

And he said it was going to be September too, until it wasn't. The facts are that RSD will take a minimum of one month to complete, and they are "weeks away" (2 weeks? 4 weeks? 6 weeks?) from starting it. That's some pretty basic math.
It puts us extremely optimistically into November... And more likely into December/January/Feburary
