Finnair is coming back next year.

Wow who ever thought the day would come where Air Canada would service Sub-Saharan Africa. Took them long enough.

Yes and this was due to the air transport agreement signed recently between Canada and Ghana.

Hopefully Air Canada starts it soon. Can’t wait to use it.

Thought Ethiopian would be the first to fly from Ethiopia via Ghana. I am sure there was some kind of announcement.

Yes Ethiopian Airlines has been granted fifth freedom rights to fly from Accra to Toronto but they have not officially announced anything.

”Additionally, Ethiopian Airlines has been granted fifth freedom rights by Ghana’s Civil Aviation Authority to fly from Accra to Toronto in Canada.” [\b]

From looking at ADS-B data a lot of the foreign airlines (not AC though) are using the infield terminal now, from both T1 and T3. Even some Star Alliance airlines that don't have joint ventures with AC. Does anyone have the inside scoop on this? Also, now that Sunwing is fully integrated into WS I would assume the infield terminal is no longer the Sunwing penalty box?

The same thing happened last summer. Probably has to do with capacity limitations at the main terminals during the summer season.
More details from last year

Some more additions. Iberia is coming back. Been years since I last saw them in the late 90’s early 2000’s. Don’t quote me on those dates but it was while terminal 2 was still in existence.

Good to see. I've been surprised by the infrequent direct Toronto-Madrid options over the last decade.

That sounds close. I don't remember them here after 1997 but it's possible. Ran DC-10-30s YYZ-YMX-MAD on Sundays, and possibly other days. I'm sure they'll be back with A321XLR equipment.

Interesting. They've thrown a lot of equipment at this route over the years including DC-10s, MD-11s, A330s and 757s. I don't foresee success on this one even if it is just S26.

A friend was through Pearson recently and remarked about how crowded it is. We really are putting a ton of pax pressure on the terminals.

Gotta get started on the expanded T1 asap, but it's still some time off iirc

I also really wish GTAA would think bigger with things like retail, services etc. Vancouver does this stuff way better (much less Singapore) and we should at the very least be roughly on part with our friends on the West Coast.

I'd also love a better link between T1 and T3 - say if you don't want to use the Ski Lift
