Plus I consider Bailao's association with such a vile asshole like Kouvalis as a significant obstacle to support her. Huge red flag there.
 
Bailao was my councillor for a five years and she was pretty good at local constituency issues but I always got the sense she was taking marching orders from the mayor's office on city council items.

I recall her doing work on cross-ward issues with Cressy and Layton, so perhaps she would extend an olive branch to progressive councillors.

I'd vote for Bailao before Bradford, and maybe Matlow pending his housing platform.

I feel like maybe they should have found anything at all if they want to dissuade people from voting for him that weren't going to already.
What moderate is clutching their pearls that he has support from a journalist and former political staffers?
 
I'm not putting too much weight in the composition of a candidate's advisory committee, like Bradford. Candidates want to find the people they need to win. Keep in mind, Olivia Chow hired Liberal pitbull Warren Kinsella in 2007 and David Miller hired former PC strategist John Laschinger in 2003.

Likewise, GR firms like Navigator and StrategyCorp are betting on Bradford as their golden goose so that their clients will have an open door to the mayor's office. This is just politics.

To me, Bradford's inconsistent voting record, his allegiance to Tory, and his recent comments on the Gardiner are bigger red flags than the membership of his advisory committee.

Same with Ana Bailao working with Nick Kouvalis. It's just politics. He is there to provide strategy. Nothing more.

I get that. However, I don't recall John Tory running on a smear campaign or diving into clear bad campaign politics with his three campaigns. Kouvalis got nasty with Patrick Brown's re-election campaign in Brampton, however, that felt really personal. As there is not an incumbent running, I expect Kouvalis to help with strategy without anything nasty. And I think Ana Bailao doesn't want a nasty campaign.

Tory did get pretty mean and petty during the 2014, 2018 election and arguably in the 2022 election. The robocalls to get his picks onto council was unprecedented for a mayoral campaign, and in 2022 that’s how he spent nearly all the time. Remember that in 2018, his campaign was calling Layton, Cressy, and Wong-Tam “radical socialists.”

So does Saunders keep making Ontario Place "advising" money through the campaign or?

According to information posted on the government’s website, Saunders will be paid $700 a day for a maximum of up to $171,500 a year in the part-time role. An order-in-council said Saunders was appointed on Feb. 25 and will serve until Feb. 24, 2024 at the latest.

I hope some journalists ask him on the campaign trail what he's been doing for this potentially pretty significant amount of money.

Saunders really seems to be scrambling for his next meal ticket. His resignation was sudden and I often wondered what was behind it.
