BMO Field is in the midst of a growth spurt, seating-wise, as temporary bleachers are coming together to the north and south of the permanent stands as the stadium is prepared for hosting duties during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Looking north across the site, the scaffold holding up the temporary seating may appear insubstantial, but the complex mesh of steel members will more than do the job of seating another 17,000 spectators than the 28,000 that can normally enjoy matches at the venue.
