The first 20 hectares of Biidaasige Park in Toronto's Port Lands opened this past weekend. Pronounced “bee-daw-si-geh,” the name is of Anishinaabemowin origin and means “sunlight shining toward us.” One of the several features of the park is the Snowy Owl within which is a stage for events, and around which are benches shaped to resemble a nest. In this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor skycandy, families gather for a performance aimed to engage the imaginations of children.
