We're so enamoured with skylines around here that few of the images we pick for our Daily Photo show street scenes, so it's always good to find reminders of the retail and restaurant strips that anchor so many of our neighbourhoods, even as the new towers increasingly populate their backdrops. In this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor CanadianNational, the eclectic buildings of Church and Wellesley provide a neighbourhood core for Toronto's Gay Village, captured here at that muted time of day after the sun has begun to drop but before nighttime's colourful lights have come on.
