Back in October, UrbanToronto Forum contributor globalexpress caught the sun setting between the masts of the Atlas crane at the future Biidaasige Park on Ookwemin Minising island in Toronto's Port Lands. The crane, a standout remnant from the land's port days, was caught with a scaffold clinging to it for a paint job. It's quite the scene with Downtown's landmarks bathed in late day light in the distance. The Indigenous names for the area were recently chosen. “Biidaasige” means “sunlight shining towards us” in Anishinaabemowin/Ojibwemowin.
