Expanding on their 30 years of experience in the GTA, Solmar Development Corp has a plan to reach new heights at their latest residential development in Brampton. Titled Bristol Place, the project was launched late last year, and will see the construction of a pair of 48-storey towers, delivering a total of 1,124 new dwelling units, and claiming the title as the tallest buildings in the City of Brampton. Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, the project represents an opportunity to activate a strategic location in an emerging community with a development of record breaking stature.

Beyond the exceptional scale of the development, the location of Bristol Place is central to its identity; situated on Main Street just north of Queen Street East, the towers will be among the closest developments to Brampton GO station, enjoying a proximity of just 300 metres. Served by the GO Kitchener Line, riders can be at Union Station in roughly 40 minutes. The site also benefits from convenient connections to the major highways and commuter roads, and offers a number of public transit options that bring riders directly to Brampton Gateway terminal, the upcoming terminus of the Hazel McCallion LRT, now under construction.

In a wider context, the project is also located within Brampton’s evolving Innovation District, an employment hub that is central to the tech sector and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the GTA. Planned infrastructure in the district includes a new library, office spaces, and the campus for the head office of Rogers Telecom, creating new opportunities in the GTA’s tech sector, which is already the second largest in North America.

The design of the project envisions the towers as identical structures rising from their own respective podiums. As the tallest in the City, the design uses the podiums as a way to scale down the towers before they meet the pedestrian realm, incorporating setbacks to create a distinct separation. As architect Berardo Graziani, Principal at Graziani + Corazza, details in the video linked below, the design approach focussed on delivering a timeless appearance that will remain relevant for years to come. Classic motifs like the terraced massing of the tower crowns reflect this goal, making reference to enduring traditions of iconic styles like Art-Deco.

Inside the towers, design work from GCB interior architecture inc. works to accomplish the goal of meeting the needs of the contemporary resident, which are more diverse than ever, and change at a rapid pace. Associate at GCB, Renato Iamonaco speaks to the interior design process in the video below.

Spaces like co-working areas and fitness facilities with cutting edge technology like I-fit connectivity are incorporated into the 15,000 ft² amenity facilities, a highlight of which is a scenic outdoor terrace.

Finally, the suites at Bristol Place are defined by clean and minimal layouts that provide flexibility to residents while offering some unique technology to elevate the living experience. The project will be the first Solmar property to offer the Solmar SmartSuite app, which provides residents with connectivity features like keyless entry, facial recognition, and parcel delivery updates.

The project has been in sales since late last year, and still has a number of suites available with prices starting in the $500's. Occupancy has been set for 2027, which indicates that the project could be starting the early construction processes within a year’s time.
