On the southeastern fringe of Midtown Toronto's tallest towers, a stretch of Soudan Avenue near Yonge and Eglinton has been undergoing a growth spurt of medium-sized towers. At a late stage of construction, one such development on the northeast corner with Lillian Street is Distinction Condos from the Lash Group Of Companies. After topping out at a height of 19 storeys earlier this year, cladding installation is binging the building's uniquely sculpted Giannone Petricone Associates design from rendering to reality.

After reaching its full 52.7-metre height, the tower crane was removed and the installation of exterior finishes has progressed significantly since. At the time of our last update in April, the main building envelope—reflective glazing and grey spandrel framed in dark mullions—stretched as high as the uppermost residential level, while the first two tower floors had recently had their balconies finished in perforated metal screens with bone-white finishes and laminated clear glazing above.

The balcony finishes now rise to the top floor, defining the building's faceted massing. Along the tower's north elevation, a vertical strip currently obscured by a construction hoist represents the last major section of the residential floors awaiting finishes, to be installed once the hoist has been removed. Above, the mechanical penthouse level is being finished in a mix of charcoal metal panels and graphite-hued louvres.

Once completed, the 12,436 m² building will bring 160 new condominium units to the neighbourhood, in a mix of 86 one-bedrooms, 68 two-bedrooms, and 6 three-bedroom suites.
