We are still working out exactly where on the site Biyu is, (as per below), but it is the next condo phase at Emerald City.

The dataBase file has a number of renderings.

Yup, it is, at 125 George Henry Blvd. The image above apparently is not up to date with in regards to the whole internal road layout.

Front page story introducing the project here.

Wise move, Biyu is a really stupid name with a stupid spelling.
Is it "Be You"? or "By You"? or "Bayou"?

Though the new name is too long and sounds cheesy.
Add this to the ever long and growing list of stupid condo names.

It's ironic that the new name is being applied to a condo development that so far doesn't actually have a whole lot of colour besides grey and yellow.

There are those Douglas Coupland Laurentian-coloured-pencil-coloured-cones on the site! But yes, one does wonder if the three buildings of this phase will have more obvious colour applied to them.

The name Biyu has not yet been entirely retired by the marketers, by the way, and we have been told they haven't made a final decision yet on that in fact, so the name is remaining on the thread and the dataBase file for the time being.

The name is not stupid, nor is the spelling. Biyu means "green jade" (or Emerald in Chinese). It is probably targeting a specific demographic.
While we have condo names like Noir, Musee, I think it is fine to have a Chinese name too.

All new roads are built for this site as well the other ones, but no open to traffic.

Looks like this building is going to be at the south west area.

So, after Emerald City 1 and 2, Dream Tower, and the Colours of Emerald City, we've got Phase 5: Fifth on the Park.

It's 24 storeys with a 3-storey podium and 240 units, at Don Mills and George Henry, south of the Colours.

Phases 1 to 5 are seen left to right, north to south basically along Don Mills. Sheppard Ave and Fairview Mall are seen to the left:

I dont want to pick on just this development, but in general why is it that Toronto always receives the most uninspiring and dull designs for condo buildings? About 50-60% of condos in this city look the exact same.

Cuz they're cheaper to build in an already high construction cost environment.
