Another busy afternoon at Portland Commons - Portland Street between Wellington and Front Street blocked off to allow the multiple cement trucks and a mobile concrete pump to work away without having to contend with other traffic. The concrete pour was focused on the north end of the new building.

Tuesday late afternoon - raising the south crane, with a mobile concrete pump on Portland Street continuing to pour the next floor in the centre section of the building. Portland Street has been closed between Front and Niagara - tying up traffic all day in the area.

June 1 - the boulevard parking and sidewalk areas in front of Portland Commons have been closed and fenced off. Ellis Don, the general contractor, has signage in place indicating the sidewalk is closed to pedestrians. Presumably, the existing boulevard parking permits have expired as of May 31, and work is now starting on the landscaping of the boulevard area as per the design for the entire south-side stretch of Wellington, from Spadina Avenue to Portland Street. Once the section in front of Portland Commons is complete it will leave only the boulevard section in front of the Lifetime Developments project at 485 Wellington Street West to be done.

It doesn't show in the rendering that those sections are brick! So cool that they are! Love the continuation of brick podiums from the Well! Yay
