That's actually pretty cool and exciting to see purpose built rental going up there.

I guess Golden Star will stay as long as they want to next door, but good to see some diversification.

No documents, renderings or anything like that yet but it appears that an OPA/ZBA went in for this last week as it is now listed on Markham's site (and it appears to include additional properties, along the side street):

An ePLAN submission for a Major Official Plan and Major Zoning Amendment has been received from Majid Tavakoli Holdings Ltd. (Majid Tavakoli) c/o WND Associates (Michael Bennett) for 7115 Yonge Street, 8-14 Grandview Avenue (the Subject lands). The applicant is proposing a mixed-use development of the subject lands consisting a 36 storey building with an-grade non-residential uses.
The proposed development will provide 437 residential units located on the 2-36 floors with unit sizes ranging from studio to three-bedroom units.
The subject lands is approximately 0.38 hectares (0.95 acres) and frontages of about 36.75 metres (120.57 feet) along Yonge Street and 148.66 metres (487.73 feet) along Grandview Avenue. The property at 7115 Yonge Street is currently vacant and was previously occupied by an automotive dealership. The properties at 8-14 Grandview Avenue are occupied by single-detached dwellings on each lot. The subject site has a generally flat topography with a subtle westward slope towards Yonge Street.

I guess the reports will be here, eventually...

How long does it usually take for them to get approval and start the construction? Those few properties in grandview ave that are also part of their plan look to be occupied at the moment

There is no usual, every project is different. Terrabona Developments have no track record on UrbanToronto yet, just four projects in the planning phase, with no way of knowing which they may start on first… or sell off to others even.
