Toronto Eglinton Line 5 + GO: Mount Dennis Station + EMSF | ?m | 3s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I remember doing some digging into this a few years back and the answers was no (someone might be able to present newer information. The potential access I was hoping for is on Brownville Avenue. It was an access point when they were doing work on the platforms so I was hoping it would be repurposed but apparently not which is a shame...it would save me close to 5 minutes instead of heading north across Eglinton
Yeah that was my exact hope, I spotted that from Google maps as well and thought it would be a great spot. It's a shame because it would save people from the south a lot of time.

FWIW, the Picture Mount Dennis Planning Framework completed by the city proposed exactly that.

I believe that there are a few cricket pitches at Eglinton Flats which are handy for people using GO here.

The Brownville / Barr connection is contemplated but Metrolinx is not pursuing it at this time. May happen sometime in the future but no work on it is part of the current package.
Maybe waiting until the No Frills site gets redeveloped and incorporate it with a pedestrian crossing over the tracks.

They'd be waiting decades for that. The issue is that because folks can't cross at grade, this becomes a far more complicated project. As soon as they're installing tunnels or bridges under live tracks, the cost, complexity, and time really go out the window. As far as I know there's no rough in for this under the new Mount Dennis platforms (@crs1026 / @smallspy / @reaperexpress?), so it would be a full ground-up tunnel with elevators - think Bloor / Dundas West without the TTC tie in.

From the City's Picture Mount Dennis planning document. Clearly the potential is recognized, but doesn't appear to be anyone's priority.

I never do understand the rationale between when ML doubles down on elaborate station design, and when they go bare bones. One would think that with Mount Dennis clearly attracting a lot of attention as a future density zone, and a transit hub, they would have gone a lot further with entrances and pathways for traffic.

As @ProjectEnd notes, a second underpass would demand full accessibility amenities and thus would not be cheap. The bad news is (as at Maple) a far-side entrance that puts traffic into the residential streets between Weston and the tracks would pretty much translate to redeveloping those back streets. Maybe that is inevitable anyways.

The other consideration is the desire to not use a paid-area platform as a pedestrian route. So a whole separate footbridge and pathway alongside the tracks and across Eglinton might have to be the full solution. More $$$$.
