Looks like that terrible architecture is gone and a new architect is in place now, Quadrangle tweeted this today:

New 40-storey condo submission from December 2022. The developer is now 'Pickering Valley Developments' and the architect is Arcadis - IBI Group.

Rendering of the previous 24 & 22-storey "Axess Condos" designed by Quadrangle for Fieldgate, seems it was not posted in the thread:

I know off topic, but I didn't see the major build at city centre/downtown (area at and around Sears wing of Pickering Town Centre that was demolished) . Is there a thread for that?

Thanks didn't see it on the map!

Also of note on the above application... There is planned, long term (beyond 2031), to have an overpass connecting Bayly St and the new downtown just east of this site (Hydro Corridor). I found it interesting they didn't seem to include this in their reports; perhaps because it is beyond 2031 and not quite known? Their traffic analysis goes as far as the 10 year outlook post expected completion (2027).

From the Durham Region Transportation Plan:

And from their traffic study:

I also heard in the last council meeting (from the mayor) they are trying to also get a pedestrian Bridge from Universal city across the 401 to the new 'downtown'. Not sure if misspoke or related to the overpass mentioned above...
