The opening of the Gordie Howe Bridge has been delayed until early 2026.

What I saw in June for the US Ssde, I was expecting it may not open this year and not close to the Sept date. The Canadian side was close to been open then and would be ready first for service. The I-75 and the bridge work where the main issues I saw and since you cannot see the US Custom area now it was a guessing game where it stood.
No idea where the 2024 came from as the opening date as I only knew it was Sept 2025 unless I miss something.

2024 was the date at project start in 2018. It got delayed to 2025 in 2021 or 2022, blamed on the Pandemic.

Question - why the lack of green roofs or solar PV? That's a lot of exposed roof area!

Let's hope the tolls are at $10 when the new bridge opens, as it will put a big dent in the bottom line of the Ambassador Bridge bottom line. Still on course to open Q1-2 of 2026.
