Real Estate Advisor
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) is a crown agency whose purpose is to build, manage, finance, and enhance the value of Ontario public assets, including Ontario’s public infrastructure, real estate, and government facilities. The Portfolio Planning team provides strategic real estate advice to the broader public sector, reviews the provincial real estate portfolio to identify opportunities to rationalize under-utilized assets and maximize value for the Province, recommends strategies which seek to implement public sector real estate goals and objectives, and optimizes the provincial portfolio – both from an acreage and rentable square foot perspective.
As a Real Estate Advisor, you will have an opportunity to work with best in class professionals on the largest and most diverse real estate portfolio in the Province with many unique properties. Providing strategic asset and portfolio planning to government to rationalize and optimize the performance of the real estate portfolio with a focus on assigned geographic areas/portfolios, you will also offer expert advice and guidance to other IO business units, government clients and stakeholders and assist with implementation of approved asset optimization and rationalization projects.
We are looking for a professional with a post-secondary degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Urban Planning, or a related discipline, combined with at least 5 years of experience in the field of corporate real estate, in a consulting or advisory role. Certification or designation in real estate valuation, investment analysis, or asset management would be an asset (e.g. AACI, CFA, CCIM, FRI, MCR).
You will have solid understanding of financial analysis for real estate investments, advanced analytical and business case development skills, and a proven ability to present complex concepts in a clear, concise and focused manner, in writing and verbally. A successful track record implementing real estate projects and initiatives would be a strong asset.
