    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

i think this was covered earlier, but why doesn't metrolinx put a station on center street? its good station spacing and seems to have decent connections to the surrounding community. and with option 3 its far enough south that the station wouldn't have to be so deep.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Like royal orchard is a tricky situation. To implement the station for a reasonable cost they would need to bridge over the valley. This would make the station shallower and lower the cost. But for them to use option 3 which turns and goes under homes in royal orchard, they have to make the...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

so the most recent plan is start at 80 meters, but future proof for 100 meter platforms. Which is okay. I think if they future proof for 120 meter platforms for all underground stations that would be best. It would be almost the same capacity as current TR's on Yonge. Plus Platform screen doors...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The ontario line trains are to be 3 meters wide. The TR trains are 3.2 meters wide. How is 20 cm "significantly narrower"? And yes the metrolinx tender sets 3 meter width as the required standard. With option for 80 meter to 100 meter length at full build out.

    Liberty Village pedestrian link

Like if not for the concrete it would look very nice. They should have used something like this instead. Harder to tag, better view from the street for safety, and looks so much better. Probably would cost less too.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

great diagrams, however in the Scarborough junction flyover, they had lakeshore and Stouffville trains stopping at Scarborough, as it an important transfer node for people that want to head south then east to Pickering instead of union. Do you think Metrolinx would have Stouffville bypass...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

okay so the in the last 30 years what projects has the ttc / city built? Sheppard subway 100% underground (cover bridge over don) 25 meter depth TYSSE 100% underground under industrial lands, and hydro corridors, plenty of room for elevated / at grade. 25 - 30 meters underground. planned...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Okay so part of the study the city did was grade separate and on street. The city did choose the on street version but had studied the below grade option. So soil testing was done, an alignment was chosen and station placement. This work was used by metrolinx because they wanted grade...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

okay found the firms website that did some designs for the city of toronto, 2006-2018. Metrolinx took it over 2019. https://www.urbanstrategies.com/project/eglinton-west-lrt-extension-development-of-conceptual-grade-separations/ so metrolinx took over the project and to save time, because the...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

the underground crosstown alignment TBM and elevated over humber river was one of the methods studied by the city, once elevated was ruled out. the city opted for at grade because "it was easier to access" but in reality was probably due to cost. The city website is gone now but if i can find...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

ya metrolinx is being super inconsistent with the above and below grade justifications. Like the SSE lawrence station depth of 40 meters just ridiculous, should been an elevated bridge over highland creek. but this was the cities plan: single bore, TBM under the river. so because the needed to...
