    For all its flaws, the stretch of King Street around Maverick used to be a really vibrant and lively section. I hope the uses at grade are able to recapture some of that uniqueness as opposed to your typical chain coffee shop, retail bank and nail salon. The trendy part appears to keep moving west.

    This building is giving the street a new life. It has been a decrepid, back-end street for as long as i remember but at least this podium fills the gap between yonge and bay nicely and will activate it some more in the future.

    I have to say, despite how it turned out on the outside, there is no doubt that no expense was spared on the interior finishings. The last time I was there I was really impressed at the quality of the details in the lobby (great quality paneling, tiles, art, marble and railings)

    I have to say that the name play (heart of the waterfront) and the heart shape being so visible from so many vantages (condo and office units nearby) is a genius aspect of this design. I like that it adds whimsy and playfulness and engages users at ground level and those in the sky.
