    Toronto 11 YV | 213m | 62s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

Ah yes, I should have said 'being replaced with better-looking materials'. I think that would bring the probability way down ...

It's so frustrating that some projects have decent massing (this), interesting flourishes (zigzagging balconies on Social) or eye-catching crowns (Aura, never mind the broken lights) and yet the developers seem to have gone out of their way to disfigure them with cheap-looking and downright ugly...

Here's a quote about Toronto from a visitor from Pennsylvania (courtesy of blogTO): "The individuality of your architecture made the high rises seem like art and not a sky of glass and concrete in other cities." Take your pick: A. This person is blind B. Our architecture is really not that...

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

Not long before we have a pair of diamonds on the skyline

They're also useful for taking pictures of surrounding projects without distortions you get from behind unopenable glass windows :)

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

The next mechanical levels will be 57 & 58th floors?

    Toronto 11 YV | 213m | 62s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

Those grey/brownish spandrels look like the ones on Daniels Waterfront (and that's not a compliment)

    Toronto EQ Bank Tower | 105.18m | 23s | First Gulf | Sweeny &Co

Yup, that’s the Globe & Mail building behind it

    Toronto The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

I guess these pictures prove that people are willing to go to an outdoor mall in Toronto even in the winter, despite what the armchair critics are claiming.

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

The One & 1 Bloor East make quite the pair - when completed, it's going to look like a freakishly tall supermodel standing next to an already tall (but much shorter) muscle man.

    Toronto Artistry Condos | 103.5m | 29s | Tribute | Graziani + Corazza

Can we ban the use of grey spandrels (all 50 shades of it)?

    Toronto Freed Hotel & Residences | 219m | 63s | Freed | AS + GG

Just another way of saying this tower will be clad in 50 shades of gray spandrels? Or that it's your perfect love nest?

    Toronto 88 Queen | 167.35m | 52s | St Thomas Dev | Hariri Pontarini

My apologies. I wasn’t in Toronto in the early 2000s, and had never heard of The Luminous Veil until the lights were added in 2015. And even then, the sources I read didn’t mention the lights had been planned since the barrier was installed. Better late than never - and of course the barrier is...

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 344.9m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Those kinks on the east side and the canted columns extending to the south side - promising, but let's see if they're going to be too subtle ...

    Toronto 68 Wellesley Street East | 91.9m | 28s | KingSett Capital | BDP Quadrangle

It looks like the Chrysler Tower compared to the building proposed across the street.

    Toronto Dundas Square Gardens | 156.05m | 50s | Gupta | IBI Group

My sister and her husband stayed there for a month when it was practically brand new. I guess it wasn't so bad then - their main issue was the overcrowded lobby and long wait for elevators, and I think you have to transfer to a second set of elevators (5th floor?) to get to your unit.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

So even the construction elevators are skipping the 13th floor? That's unusual, isn't it? I've seen Floor #13 on condos under construction even when the completed tower skips the 4th, 13th, 14th and all other floors ending in 4.

    Toronto 20 Front West | 172.4m | 52s | Brookfield | KPMB

So the height was revised to preserve views of the CN Tower skypod and the ziggurat top of TD Canada Trust Tower? From which point though? The updated rendering shows the view from Front & Market St, but I’m sure it’s very different from Front/ Wellington & Church. I’m sure under the old...

    Toronto 88 Queen | 167.35m | 52s | St Thomas Dev | Hariri Pontarini

True, some of the existing classroom space will become available as restrictions on foreign student visas affect the colleges (dare I say diploma mills?). As for the office space at 88 Queen, will it be considered as Class A?
