    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

^ Hope that's not final cladding for the mech... was hoping for the horizontal grille cladding seen in early renders which would also echo/compliment the Yonge Street annex building. Johnny Au

To honour Claude Cormier’s passing, from an aerial photo of Love Park by BJT. 😘 BJT Title: The Infinity Pool of Dreams (Love Park*) In the heart of the bustling city, nestled within a lush green park, stood an architectural marvel that defied the laws of physics. The Infinity Pool of Dreams...

    Toronto Love Park | 3m | 1s | City of Toronto | CCxA

Very, very sad news. I agree with Johnny that some kind of memorial should be (fittingly) a fixture in Love Park... he gave so much love to the city with his stellar, delightful work and generously gave back to U of T to support the next generation of landscape design artists. Left us too...

    Hamilton 1 Jarvis Street | 49.5m | 14s | Emblem Developments | Studio JCI

As a big fan of Studio JCI I made a point to check this one out... that high ceiling glass street-wall on Ferguson (across from the theatre) is sweet and begging for a restaurant/cafe or other retail to animate the street... but I couldn't see any sign of an exterior door. Is this just a...

    Vaughan ArtWalk District Phase 1 | 131m | 38s | SmartCentres | Hariri Pontarini

This great HPA design flew under my radar... classy and coherent. Would love something like this in the city (maybe East Harbour).

how long until toronto surpasses chicago on skyscrapers?

Steppin' away from census , suburbs and other discussions for a minute, the 200 metre+ metric between the Cities of Toronto and Chicago is getting interesting, for me at least: Toronto has 39* built and u/c 200 metre+ towers. Tallest @ 328.4m unless SkyTower is approved @ 344.58 metres (*40...

    Toronto 15 Toronto Street | 205.93m | 53s | Madison Group | BDP Quadrangle

From this AIC Architectural Plans link, some more looks at the project materials: At the top (mechanical penthouse) A couple of elevations showing the tower profile: Almost forgot that tiny Toronto Street may one day also be hosting a second even taller tower, the 80 storey (258.60...

    Toronto One Roxborough West | 49.42m | 12s | North Drive | Reflect Architecture

The renders hint at (faux) wrought-iron balcony guards which are always welcome imo... but while those vertical perforated metal screens may diffuse some light, they certainly don't qualify as architectural enhancement. Ugly choice for an otherwise acceptable mid-rise for the neighbourhood.

    Toronto 15 Toronto Street | 205.93m | 53s | Madison Group | BDP Quadrangle

Excellent fixes, particularly the 4th floor setback that seems to allow its heritage neighbour to breathe. Thanks for this @Northern Light ... I'll ensure this is approved in short order.

    Toronto 350 Bloor East | 208.91m | 63s | Osmington Gerofsky | Hariri Pontarini

Sorry for the thread bump but @SixPoints great shot below (The Rosedale on Bloor thread) made me stare longingly at the 350 Bloor East site (Rogers). On the 1 year anniversary of the project appearing in the AIC ...wondering if someone like @ProjectEnd might have a crumb or two to nibble on...

    Toronto ROQ City | 113m | 33s | Tricon | Hariri Pontarini

What a great (dense) shot .... capturing 7 u/c projects in one frame to boot. 🙃 This seems like another good time to add another shout out to Hariri Pontarini Architects ... remaking yet another large block of the city (The Well, Pinnacle One Yonge, 88 Queen, Artists’ Alley, misc towers like 19...

Didn't Know: it was interesting to learn that Gordon Gill (the GG in AS+GG) grew up in Toronto and still has his family here. In the link he jokes about the pressure to do well ;-).
