Toronto No. 31 Condos | 137.4m | 41s | Lanterra | Arquitectonica

No. 31 Condos going like a house on fire this week. Also they got approval of the easement relocation. They have 2 Shoring/drilling machines going, one on south/east side and one south/west side and both are right up against the CN rail retaining wall. So the driveway between 33 Parliament and 31 Parliament was approved. Concrete pillars being poured down into the underground parking as they have 4 concrete trucks working. They moved the mobile trailer/office out on the street in front of the hydro station.

I wonder if the excessive amount of parking (and that lower level commercial space) means they will be looking for paid public parking in the building?
I've already asked these questions. Parking at No 31 is very limited. So limited it's cut out possible lockers. Parking is strictly residents of No 31. And all the present parking between Distillery District and Goode condo is going away as the new Ontario subway line is below that area. The back parking lot behind No 31 will be another new building. 31R condos.
Graywood of Goode condos acknowledged the first level of Goode will be Green P parking. An agreement with Distillery District. So should be interesting if Goode and No 31 shares the same driveway into underground parking and the mass of vehicles coming and going for Distillery District.

There is a ton of Green P parking in the area, including a large Green P underneath the Distillery, and a new subway line coming to the area in a few years after the building completes.

It'll be fine. People accessing the Distillery will come by transit a lot more in the future with the subway right next door anyway.

Only one Green P parking left in the area. Ontario government took all of them away on Parliament. Dug them up and fenced them off for the new subway line. Distillery District parking garage is all that's left and what a disaster trying to attend anything now in the area.

The green P map shows 5 different off street garages in a few minutes walk, plus there are also several private commercial garages in walking distance. I’ve parked in the area a handful of times in the last year and never had an issue, other than maybe during the Christmas market which is always a crapshoot anyway.

Not sure why you think having large surface parking lots is a good idea.

My point was everyone arriving at the Distillery wants to pour into the parking on the south side. We go 3 times a week at least and during the summer each evening. I know where to park as I lived in the area for years. But it's visitors that think the only available parking is the south side of Distillery or the open lots that are now gone. Parliament street is gridlocked most days and security waving cars away, full lot. :)

I live in the area and that’s certainly not my experience. Outside of the Christmas market, traffic is no different than any other part of the city. In fact, it’s much more tolerable than traffic in Liberty Village or CityPlace - both of which I’ve also lived.

There is plenty of parking available underground, and in surrounding lots. I never see them full outside of the Christmas market. It wasn’t even too bad during the market this year, as people seemed to get the message and found parking elsewhere. And that was with Cherry street completely closed due to construction. In previous years, people all funnelled to the surface lots immediately surrounding the distillery, which made the area a complete mess of traffic. Having parking spread out has definitely improved the situation.

No. 31 Condos on April 15 th 2023. Quite the transformation quickly. Digging down now and sharing a wall between 31 & 33 buildings. They dug down on the east end and filled back up with fresh gravel. Must have too much water coming in. But things moving fast.
