I imagine the top bits will be easier to clean, but more prone to get dirty. While the bottoms parts will be more problematic, but they won't get as dirty.
On the contrary, rain will wash down the upper parts a lot better but maybe not so much in the lower portion below the bend. So it could go either way.

...well, that's not really contrary though.

My point was, the lower bits will be more prone to get dirty in the long run, compared to upper parts.
Not to beleaguer this quibble further, but you did claim, "...it could go either way". Something I am willing to accept, as you and I are unlikely the final authority on the matter...and I did post my part in the spirit of a guesstimation, for what that's worth. But either way, I take that as not being on the contrary where an all or nothing scenario has not really been established here.

...and that's all I'll say to that. Thnkx!
