Hiring international designers and not giving them a budget is a Toronto specialty - developers here don't care about the building, they just care about getting the brand name of the architect.

this is a total precast modular building - a lot of them are going up west of toronto in cities like Hamilton, KW and London

This is pretty far from the LRT in a very auto reliant area so I'm not super surprised. It is served by the 5 Delaware bus that loops through Rosedale but the service is infrequent.

I’m not sure it really registers in the public consciousness that there are three towers coming to this site, and that the distillery will essentially be doubling in size. Very excited to see how the public realm of these three buildings extends and enhances the distillery feel further south.

From Bremner - side note, I just really love honey locust trees. Not native from what I gather, but they grow so dang well here. They all look really healthy and they turn the most lovely shade of yellow in the fall.

That's because 110 Charles is an exceptionally well designed and built building - the Novotel is not.

From a distance - grid looks better from far away / when it’s very sunny. Wouldn’t have minded if the white fins were a bit more beefy, but overall the project is quite nice.
