Doesn't seem the westside entrance of Mount Dennis will be opening anytime soon. The sidewalk access to the south facing entrance is blocked off coming from the west. Will that be opened in time for the station's opening?

I am pretty sure there is a sliver of a walkway there between the fencing and the station itself you can see in that picture that you can access just after the Scotibank on the corner that will lead you down to the station entrance.

I think there has to be because say you were outside that Scotiabank on the north side of Eglinton, to legally get to the other station entrance you would need to cross to the southside, then walk all the way down to Black Creek Drive and cross back to the Noth side and walk all the way back up to the other entrance! I did a very quick and dirty distance calculation on that walk and it is roughly 834 metres!

Hopefully that's the case, but passing in front of the station that isn't obvious.

That was precisely my concern. You can't expect folks to walk all the way to Black Creek and double back. There will be a ton of jaywalkers.

I just wandered by on my evening walk as I live in the area and there is 100% paved path behind the fence in that picture which has good lighting on the fences pointing towards the path so we are ok!

Metrolinx has posted a slideshow update on the elevated guideway construction and tunnelling. The slide below stood out to me the most.

Why can't we ever get any fast tunnelling progress for the scarborough subway?
It seems like every milestone for Eg west is being reached so quickly (TBM tunnel, mined tunnel, and even station excavation)

SSE seems to be a lesson in not using a single huge bore tbm in questionable soil conditions. The minned tunnel on ECWE is fairly slow but at least it is steady.
Which part of this (ECWE) project is TBM and which part is mined? I thought the vast majority was TBM.

The part between Mount Dennis and the portal west of Weston Rd (~500 metres) is being SEM'd. The rest is TBM.
Yes, I suppose that bit is. Looks like only 300 metres from eastern end of the western portal, to Weston; not much longer than a subway station box.

I think there's a big difference between that and a 25-km tunnel designed for 6 lanes of traffic and two rail tracks!
