Downtown Grocery Store List (current + proposed)

I literally had no idea there was a "mall" here. Never been. But I've been to IKEA and the now "saved" Cineplex on Queensway which aren't far.

Looking on Street View I can see there used to be a Zellers at the other end of the mall.

Getting ahead of a forced closure, maybe?

I know all grocery stores have to deal with pest control but Farm Boy seems to be pretty filthy and lax about their food service rules enforcement.

Is anyone going to shop at Farm Boy and trust they’ve improved?

I never went back to Pusateris after the roaches were crawling up the window.

I'd argue that the best time to shop at a store that has been closed for a pest infestation is immediately after it reopens – the site has been freshly treated, and it has passed inspection

And I would agree with you but the yuck factor, after reading the reddit thread, is just too high for my liking.

Lack of food safety handling can end up with horrendous illnesses or worse.

Thankfully, in Toronto we have plenty of other options.

Can we just get Trader Joes please?

The U.S. owners have had a look at the market more than once. So far, they've taken a pass.

Its hugely expensive to set up in Canada. The requirement for French on the labels, for all of their private label stuff / any U.S. brand they could/would import that currently doesn't do business here.

They need dedicated warehousing.

Its not a small matter.

That and have you not see all the small No Frills opening.............there's a reason for that............have a look at the average footprint and compare with both Aldi and Trader Joe's...... tell me if you think that's a coincidence LOL
