They really need to perhaps find a more efficient way to count votes in the various states. The glacial pace is mind boggling. Feels like an election in 1820, not 2020.

I do see what you're saying - you'd figure they could feed it into a machine that does all the work much faster.

At this point though, I think having humans do part of the work makes sense. I can only imagine the conspiracy theories if it was all computerized.

Mail-in ballots are time consuming, but necessary.

It's incredibly difficult to unseat an incumbent President. Rarely happens.

Trump has done an awful job, but he inspires passion in his followers. That's tough to beat.

I will say, if one doesn't like Trump I don't think this election could be anymore "satisfying". He's gone from thinking he had a guaranteed win on his hands to slowly watching it all fall apart.

It would have been satisfying if he was humiliated by the outcome, and wouldn't have the excuse that it was 'close' and that he lost because of 'cheating'.

Its been great for Biden but this was going to be a blue wave in short this is a nightmare for the Dems.

It was never going to be a blue wave for the Dems. Americans may look like us, but they think differently. The Dems have been talking up socialism, environmentalism, taxation and globalism. You don't win over a sizable majority of the US population with those banners.

The fear many have is Biden wins but the Dems don't win the senate and lose seats in the house of reps.

If the Dems have the Senate they'll go hog wild on court packing, tax increases, identity politics, citizenship for illegals, minimum wage increases, alternative energy, student loan relief, and expansion of Obamacare and all areas of government to such a degree that a GOP victory in the 2022 mid-terms and 2024 presidential race will be all be assured. Instead, a split Congress will stifle the radial leftists in the Senate and force both sides to work together, or not work at all, both scenarios are likely acceptable to the public. This election was about getting rid of Trump, not changing the political or social direction of the country.

Biden needs to win two of the following

Arizona
Nevada
Georgia
Pennsylvania
North Carolina (unlikely)

New results rolling in are working in his favour. Biden will likely eke out a win.

Still inexcusable not to win by bigger margins during a pandemic and recession.

The thing for many Dems supporters is Biden will be a lame duck president with the GOP having control of the Senate and the Dems with fewer seats in the house they won't be able to get much done.

Apart from a couple of people like AOC, the Dems version of all of this is still right. Biden wouldn’t support anything “radical”, he is as scared of the scary spectre of supposed socialism as most Americans are.

You'll notice the outcome varies by State.

Some were reasonably efficient, using machine-read ballots, pre-counting advanced ballots, having sufficient numbers of staff to the task.

While others count ballots by hand, devolve the election to hundreds of little hamlets of people, some of whom are under-resourced, disorganized or both.

The Americans have people who know how to do this properly; but those choosing not to, are making a choice.

David Andahl, 55, passed away due to complications from COVID-19 on Oct. 5.

A Republican candidate in North Dakota has apparently won his seat for state legislature, despite having passed away from complications due to COVID-19 last month.

David Andahl died on Oct. 5 at the age of 55, the Associated Press had reported. His mother, Pat, had told The Bismarck Tribune that her son had been hospitalized with the virus and died after being sick for about four days.

On Wednesday, unofficial election results showed that Andahl won enough votes to obtain one of two seats for District 8 state representative.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum announced Wednesday morning that he is appointing businessman Wade Boeshans to the North Dakota House of Representatives seat that was left vacant due to Andahl's passing.

"Our hearts continue to go out to David Andahl's family and friends. There is no doubt he would have served the state well in the Legislature," the GOP governor said in a press release. "After extensive research, it became clear that the only legal and constitutionally viable way to fill the District 8 seat is through gubernatorial appointment."
