Tesla tops Elon Musk’s $420 milestone for the first time

Tesla Inc. climbed above US$420 for the first time Monday as fresh financing arranged from banks in China added to optimism supporting a months-long rally. Musk, who was sued by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last year for falsely tweeting he had funding to take the company private at that price, cracked a joke about the development on his favourite social-media platform.

Anyone who bought the stock when Tesla went public in 2010 has a bonanza of 1,190%.

That’s stock market gambling. How much profit is Tesla making per car?

It is interesting that Tesla will be releasing an app store that contains games for children to play while in a Tesla.

Elon Musk: "When will we get there?" will be a question that will go the way of the dodo.

Tesla 2019 sales hit goals, rise over 50% from previous year

The Canadian Press January 3, 2020

Tesla's global deliveries rose more than 50% last year meaning the company surpassed the low end of its sales goals for 2019.

The electric car maker delivered a record of about 112,000 vehicles in the fourth quarter and about 367,500 for the full year.

Tesla, based in Palo Alto, California, previously announced that it expected to deliver 360,000 to 400,000 units worldwide last year.

Shares of Tesla Inc. rose nearly 2% in premarket trading Friday to $437.89. If that trend holds, the company's stock will hit an all time high.

Tesla's new factory in Shanghai, China, produced just under 1,000 cars for sale and has deliveries have started in the world’s largest car market, the company said in a prepared statement. Tesla broke ground on the factory less than a year ago, and expects to produce more than 3,000 vehicles per week.

Analysts expect China to play a critical role in Tesla's growth story this year.

The sales increase should bode well for Tesla's fourth-quarter and full-year earnings, which will come later in the year.

Aston Martin shaken and stirred as rivals power ahead

(Reuters) - Aston Martin <AML.L> warned its 2019 profits would almost halve due to weak European markets, sending its shares sharply lower as rivals Bentley and Rolls-Royce powered ahead.

Tuesday's downgrade is the latest from the British luxury carmaker, whose shares have now plunged about three quarters in value since their 2018 listing.

Larry Ellison’s $1 Billion Tesla Bet Is Paying Off After a Wild Ride

Tom Metcalf
Bloomberg January 14, 2020

(Bloomberg) -- Larry Ellison’s faith in Tesla Inc. and his friend Elon Musk is being rewarded.

The Oracle Corp. chairman bought 3 million shares of the electric-vehicle maker before joining Tesla’s board in December 2018. The stake -- worth $1 billion at the time -- is now worth more than $1.6 billion. The stock has surged 25% in just the first two weeks of 2020 as fourth-quarter vehicle deliveries exceeded estimates and Musk started handing over locally assembled cars to customers in China.

Ew, Rolls-Royce and Bentley are nothing to emulate, forget money. Their sell out "SUVs" that they've put out are an affront to good taste and good design and just about anything that's right and proper in this world.

W...t....f is that?!

Ok, you know how usually the rendering makes the building look better than it eventually ends up looking? Yeah, now picture this abomination post-construction given that particular render.

Also, yes.....exactly that....the automotive version of this schlock.

Yes, but that's what the stock market is: gambling.
IK, but it’s no way to judge a company’s success. That’s especially true for stocks that do not pay dividends, since then your only hope is that another person wants to pay you more for the stock than you paid, meaning that the stock is worthless to you unless you sell it.
